Creating a sustainable future—Together at Unit4

At Unit4, sustainability is more than a buzzword—it’s a commitment woven into everything we do. Guided by our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, we’re building a future where our business success goes hand in hand with caring for the planet and uplifting communities. From company-wide initiatives to employee-led programs, we’re proud to drive meaningful change that benefits our people, customers, society, and the environment.

In accordance with these principles, Unit4 launched our Environmental Action Employee Resource Group (ERG), whose mission is to empower and unite employees to drive positive environmental change within Unit4 and beyond. Through education, advocacy, and collaborative action, the ERG strives to foster a culture of sustainability and responsible consumption while addressing climate change challenges. The ERG aims to create a work environment that enables all our people to contribute to Unit4’s sustainability efforts, both in our professional and personal lives, while actively addressing and identifying opportunities for continuous sustainable improvement in our operations.

Taking action this Earth Day

We at Unit4 celebrate this Earth Day (April 22) with multiple activities. For the following week, we have invited a speaker from Microsoft to share with us more insights about our sustainable Cloud. Also, we are encouraging all Unit4 employees to take simple steps toward greener living. Even small habit changes—when multiplied across our global community—can make a big difference.

We’re encouraging everyone to:

We’ve also activated our Social Committees to lead local Earth Day activities, such as:

  • Participating in local environmental events
  • Organizing clean-ups, tree planting, or upcycling workshops
  • Hosting office events with quizzes and sustainability-focused activities
  • Collaborating with environmental charities and collecting donations
  • Promoting VTO (Volunteer Time Off) for employees to give back locally

Together, we’re making Earth Day more than symbolic—we’re making it actionable.

Employee-driven change, all year round

Our dedication to the planet and our communities doesn’t stop in April. Through our Act4Good employee volunteering program, we empower our people to spend a portion of their time on causes that matter most to them. Whether it’s helping a neighbor, mentoring youth, or joining global environmental initiatives, the impact is inspiring.

Highlights:

  • 1,000+ items donated to support families through food and clothing drives
  • Local and global volunteering, including environmental and humanitarian projects
  • Skill-based volunteering, where employees share their expertise with nonprofits and underserved groups

Supporting our people’s wellbeing

A greener future also means a healthier, more balanced one for our people. We prioritize mental health, inclusion, and flexibility, creating a workplace where everyone can thrive.

Our focus areas:

  • Flexible work options, including remote work and adaptable schedules
  • Wellness programs, from mindfulness sessions to fitness initiatives
  • Inclusive culture, driven by DEI-focused policies and programs

At Unit4, sustainability is a journey we’re all on together. Whether through our Earth Day actions, year-round volunteering, or environmental partnerships, we’re proud to be part of the solution. Let’s keep making a difference—on Earth Day and every day.

I’ve been fascinated by technology since age 14: from my first Tandy TRS Model 1, through to developing cloud-based, super-scalable solutions and bringing innovative technologies such as AI, chatbots, and predictive analytics to ERP. We really can now have better, non-invasive and pervasive solutions — to improve People Experience and help us focus on what we truly love.

My spare time is spent with family and friends. I can often be found road biking to stay in shape, and I love experiencing different cultures through traveling.
